Welcome to my brew log blog. Here's a few of my brews and the labels I made for them. Sorry you cant tip a cold one here on the web, but I hope you enjoy the artwork.
Cheers, Jim
Bourbon Barrel Breakfast Stout: Generous additions of
dark roasted and sweet flavor malts, fresh espresso, lightly hopped and aged
in a freshly emptied white oak bourbon barrel.
Breakfast of Champions
Honey Chamomile Wheat: Hefeweizen style with chamomile and wildflower honey added for a floral sweetness and cascade hops for a citrus touch. A springtime kiss. |
Aussie Blond IPA: Dry hopped with Australian Topaz hops for a fruity sweet pear fruit/ lychee fruit aroma and flavor. Malty balance from German and US malts. Highly hopped with English, German and Australian floral/fruity style hops (for citrusy hop style IPA see Amarillo Angel below) A blond bombshell! |
Munich Honey Pale Ale: One of my favorites. Malts from all
corners,
Germany, England, Canada and the US create an incredibly complex maltiness that's balanced by 4 additions of hops for a rounded citrusy floral hop bang. You'll beg for more ;-) |
One Wish: An Irish Stout with a double kick! Higher alcohol and
high hop rate. I suppose that makes it an American stout but I like the Shamrock pic ;-) Lots of chocolate and black malts for an espresso like maltiness and dry hopped for a hoppy happy ending. Spankingingly good. |
Belgian Dubbel: Caramel sweet maltyness with a spicey twang from
the Belgian yeast strain. Not quite a Lambic, and not quite a Pale Ale. It's like trying them both together. Ever had a dubbel?
|
Amarillo Angel IPA: Straight up American style IPA. Lots of
Amarillo Hops for an orangey citrusy hop kick and enough assorted malts to compliment the hop assault. An angel of a brew with a wicked side. |
Catch Her in the Rye: A medium hop Rye IPA brings forward the
deep malt flavors and spiciness from the rye. Multiple additions of 4 hop varieties add balance. Full of earthy complex flavors to wrap your tongue around. |
She's not Hefe, She's my Weizen: Hopped up Bavarian style Hefeweizen Weissbier (wheat beer). Banana/clove flavors brought out by the Bavarian yeast and a citrusy aroma from Cascade and Amarillo hops. Think Paulaner or Hacker-Pschorr with a orangy kick from the hops. Afternoon delight on a hot summer day. |
Pistol Packin Pilsner: Crisp German/Bohemian hybrid Pilsner. Lots of flavor malts and German and Czech hops for a florally hopped up 5.5% Pils. Bang! |
Hard Cider: 3 lbs of apples in every 22 oz bottle, and not a spec
of anything else. 8 varieties of sweet and tart apples. Crisp and lip smacking. |
Love 'em all!!
ReplyDeleteI'm hosting a James Bond-themed weekend around the 50th Anniversary of "Dr No", in October.
I'd love to use the "Pistol Packin' Pilsener" image as (one of many 'sort-of' Bond-themed images in popular culture today).
